3 Special Interest Aliens from Venezuela

January 9, 2026 — As part of a targeted law enforcement operation, agents from the Detroit Station arrested three Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) from Venezuela during a traffic stop near Westland, Michigan.
SIAs are individuals who have entered or remained in the United States unlawfully and originate from countries identified as presenting elevated national security concerns.
All three individuals are in federal custody and will be removed from the United States.

DETROIT – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Ambassador Bridge arrested a man wanted for homicide after he attempted to enter Canada on March 24, 2017.
A CBP secondary inspection, including fingerprint verification, revealed the male traveler, identified as 26 year old Jerome Jones, was the subject of an arrest warrant for first degree murder out of Cumberland County, NC.
