Austin Texas: 1:23AM June 12 2021: A mass shooting occurred in the 400 block of E 6th St early this morning at around 1:23AM. Multiple officers working the downtown area of Austin reported the shots fired, immediately advising APD dispatch of victims. The below audio is from that incident. The final count of victims is around 15 with gunshot wounds, at least 1 victim with a GSW to the chest, described in dispatch audio as a female. CPR was being performed by APD officers on the scene. Medical aid was performed by APD officers on a number of victims, including the use of tourniquets. Victims were conveyed by the APD, EMS and according to dispatch audio, some were privately conveyed to area hospitals. Dispatch audio described the suspect as a black male, skinny, dreads and wearing a black shirt. Description was provided to APD officers by witnesses on the scene. 1 person was “detained” during the incident; according to dispatch audio, it is unknown his/her detention is in conjunction with the shooting.
Edit: It also appears, according to dispatch audio, that 1 person/civilian may have fired shots at the suspect during the incident, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
