5 Dead At Church of Sacramento, Shooter Dead
Sacramento, California 5:03 PM PST: Sacramento law enforcement agencies were dispatch to 2041 Wyda Way at around 5:03PM PST on reports of a shooter at the Church of Sacramento at Wyda Way & Ethan Way. The 911 caller, identified as the pastor of the church stated someone was in the church shooting, armed with what he described as a 9MM at the time of dispatch. Officers arrived on the scene quickly and stated no shots could be heard at the time of arrival. Dispatch initially broadcast a description of the shooter but that was quickly amended as the description of the church pastor.
Officers then reported 5 children down at the rear of the church. Other officers breached the church and performed a clearance. The shooter was reported down and deceased with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
Current reports indicate the shooter shot to death his 3 children; under the age of 15, and 1 other person, age unknown.
Update: It’s being reported the 5th victim was a chaperone who was supervising a visit between the father and children. Sacramento Sheriff says mother had restraining order out on father of children.
