Detroit’s West Side: DPD’s 10th Precinct were dispatched to the 2400 block of Sturtevant early Wednesday morning at around 9:43AM on reports of a shooting.

Arriving 10th Precinct units discovered a 5 year old child with a gunshot wound to the face. DEMS Medic 10 was dispatched to the scene.

According to sources, the father told investigators his 18 month old child removed the unsecured Glock handgun while he was sleeping and shot his 5 year old brother in the face/neck.

DEMS Medic 10 conveyed the 5 year old to Henry Ford Hospital, escorted by DPD units where the 5 year old was declared deceased.
