4 Shot in Detroit, 3 at a Boxing Event
Detroit’s West Side (12:15AM): DPD’s west side precincts were busy last night with shootings at two locations. The first @ 18601 Grand River. A boxing event was being held and of course, an argument developed between patrons. 3 people were shot, including 2 teenagers. A third adult sustained gunshot wounds to the stomach and face. All of the victims were privately conveyed to area hospitals. The 2 teenagers, a 17 year old female and a 19 year old male survived relatively intact but the adult is in critical condition at Sinai-Grace Hospital.
Update: Wanted For Shooting


After the shooting, family members and friends showed up at Sinai-Grace where at least 1 person was arrested for an assault on a police officer of the 12th Precinct. Units from city-wide were dispatched to the hospital’s lobby in response to the violence. The incident was quickly put down by responding officers. At least 1 person was treated at the hospital after being maced by officers at the scene.

Plymouth & Hubbell Shooting
The second shooting took place in the area of Plymouth & Hubbell at around 12:38AM, but a scene was discovered 11400 block of Strathmoor. A 28 year old man was shot and privately conveyed to the hospital.
1 Person Dead, 1 Critical
Detroit’s West Side: DPD units responded to reports of an injury traffic accident @ Joy Rd & Westwood last night at around 9:30PM. Arriving officers discovered a woman had ejected and died at the scene, a second person received critical injuries and was conveyed by Detroit EMS.
While investigating the accident, officers were met with shots fired just south of the accident scene. Detroit Police Fatal Squad were also dispatched to the scene of the accident.
