USCG Detroit Helicopter Hoist Driver From Submerged Vehicle

US Coast Guard Air Station Detroit MH-65D crew members hoisted a female in her 60s from a partially submerged vehicle in the Niagara River, 100′ from the falls. The USCG successfully extricated the woman and transferred her to local EMS. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased on scene. It’s unknown how the vehicle ended up in the river at this time.
