Fatal Stabbing On Prevost Street

Detroit’s NW Side: Detroit Police Units from the 8th Precinct in NW Detroit responded earlier this morning around 3:00AM on reports of a stabbing at Prevost & Fenkell.

The reporting person stated the victim had been stabbed numerous times and was having difficulty breathing.

Upon arrival, an officer ordered Detroit EMS and confirmed the incident as a stabbing.

Detroit EMS gave a 2 minute ETA.

Due to the condition of the victim, an 8th Precinct unit, with other units assisting, placed the victim inside their unit and conveyed him to Sinai-Grace Hospital.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival (DOA).

The conveying DPD unit confirmed this was a K-Type (fatal) stabbing to dispatch and proper notifications were made.

A description and address of the suspect was provided by witnesses on the scene.

DPD evidence technicians and homicide investigators were notified.
