MSP Troopers Avert Suicide By Cop

Taser Deployment/Domestic Assault: On 5/16 at approximately 4:15 PM troopers were dispatched to the Captain J’s @ M-10 FWY & 7 Mile Road for a domestic assault.

The victim stated she was in her vehicle on the John C Lodge Freeway with her ex-boyfriend. While they were driving down the road, the male suspect began physically assaulting the victim. The victim was able to exit onto the service drive at 7 Mile Rd. The suspect forced the victim out of the vehicle and fled southbound from the location. The victim then made her way to the Captain J’s.

The victim stated her 5 year old daughter was in the back of the vehicle when he fled the scene. The victim provided troopers with a possible address for the suspect. Troopers located the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of Strathmoor and Lyndon on Detroit’s west side.

Troopers observed the suspect walking back to the scene where the car was recovered. The suspect had his hand in his pocket and was holding the child. The suspect was yelling he wanted troopers to kill him. A taser was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody.

The child was turned over to her mom at the scene unhurt. The victim had some minor injuries. The suspect was conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center pending prosecutor review.

Detroit Police Seek Kerry Nichols In Kidnapping Of 1 Year Old

Detroit: Detroit Police are seeking a suspect in the kidnapping of a 1 year old male child in northwest Detroit.

Officers were called to the 14200 block of Piedmont/Acacia on reports that a 1 year old child had been kidnapped by someone not the parent.

Officers of the 8th Precinct are looking for 21 year old Kerry Nichols, a black male, who kidnapped his girlfriend’s 1 year old male child, Dion, at around 10:05PM Monday night.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a White Dodge Caravan with a Michigan plate of DDV8003.

No further information at this time.

Kidnapping On Detroit’s West Side

Edit: Source reports things are quiet on Indiana, no police activity. This may have been a crank call.

Detroit’s West Side: A 911 caller told dispatchers that her 1 year old son is missing.

The RP said she left child strapped in a car seat and left to retrieve other children in the house.

When she returned to the car, the child was missing. The RP said the child cannot walk on his own.

Indiana & Thatcher in the 12th Precinct.

This is a 911 call and it’s veracity cannot be confirmed.
