Dispatch Audio-Suspect Arrested

Detroit’s West Side: A Detroit EMS Medic was assaulted on an accident scene early Tuesday morning. DEMS Medic 27 along with Detroit Fire’s Engine 55 were dispatched at 12:28AM to Joy Road at the Southfield freeway for a vehicle that tagged a wall on Joy Road. The victim was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle.

Upon arrival, DEMS Medic 27 attempted to render aid to the victim but was met with hostility by citizens on the scene. Once medics gained entry into the vehicle, a citizen struck the medic when his back was turned, striking him in the back of the head.

DEMS Supervisors 1105 & 1103 pressed to the scene and DPD’s 8th Precinct pulled a unit from a priority run to make the scene. DPD’s 8th Precinct’s 871 & 872 responded.

DEMS Medic 27 was able to render aid to the victim inside the vehicle despite having a lump on the back of the head, eventually conveying the critically injured victim to Sinai-Grace Hospital.

The DPD Scouts on the scene arrested the shitbag responsible for the attack, conveying him to the Detroit Detention Center (DDC).

Thankfully, the Medic attacked suffered only a headache and was back in Beast Mode a short time later.
