Detroit’s East Side: Detroit Police received reports of a shooting on the westbound I-94 near Mt Elliot at around 8:45PM Sunday evening. Arriving units of the DPD and Michigan State Police found 1 make with a gunshot wound. Detroit Fire’s Squad 3, DEMS Medic 20 and DEMS Supervisor 1107 also responded.

Dispatch audio suggests the 22 year old male, from Hamtramck, was westbound on I-94 when he started driving erratically and pulled over in the construction zone blocking traffic according to the MSP.

A witness then stopped to render aid and called 911.

DEMS Medic 20 conveyed the victim to Detroit Receiving Hospital with serious injuries. The westbound I-4 is closed at Van Dyke as the MSP investigates. Dispatch audio from the incident is below.
