Serious Traffic Crash: On 7/11 at approximately 11:30PM troopers were dispatched to northbound I-375 and Monroe Ave for a serious personal injury crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that that the driver of a Ford Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control, struck the embankment wall then the bridge support for the Monroe Avenue bridge.

The vehicle then caught fire. The driver was able to pull the passenger out of the vehicle. The 27 year old male driver and 21 year old female passenger both suffered serious burns and were transported to a local hospital.

Excessive speed and alcohol are possible factors in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
