Macomb County ATM Robbery
Update From Macomb County Sheriff
Harrison Township, MI. – On 1/4/19, a 22 year old black male out of Harrison Township was taken into custody for the Armed Robbery that occurred on 1/2/19.
During this investigation, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were led via video surveillance to a residential complex in Harrison Township. A canvas of the area led to the location of several empty currency containers that had been stolen from the ATM and the identification of the suspect.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect and place him under arrest without
incident as he exited his residence. Further information will be released once the suspect is charged and arraigned.
ATM Robbery In Harrison Township
Harrison Township, MI. – On 1/2/19, at approximately 10:45am, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Comerica Bank located on Jefferson Ave. near Shook Rd for an ATM robbery.
Upon arrival, deputies met with a male who advised he was a service technician working on the ATM. As he was working, a black male wearing a mask approached him with a handgun and demanded the money within the ATM.
The technician turned over the money to the black male who then fled in a white 4 door sedan. The technician entered the bank and notified staff who contacted police. Nobody was injured.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-twenties. He is approximately 6’00 tall with a thin build and was wearing a mask. The suspect was the lone occupant in the white sedan that fled north on Jefferson. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of cash.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this incident and asks anyone with information to contact the Detective Bureau at 586-307-9358.
